A funny (brief) story...
I had to call the Beey-otches at Wendy's Bridal to order my bridesmaid dress for Kath's wedding next year...yes I had to order by the end of April THIS year....redic if you ask me...anywhooo....
I already tried on a size 10 in the dress at the store and it was ginormous on me, so I knew I was ordering an 8. They wanted measurements so I took my own, of course I knew they were wrong, but the lady asked for them and I told her and she said, well based off of your measurements your a 10 in the bust, a 10 in the waist and a 12-14 in the hips. I should get a size 12 dress. I was like umm no, I want an 8. She said who took your measurements, I said I did and they were probably wrong and I knew I needed an 8 b/c I had already tried the dress on. She once AGAIN told me what I would be based off of my measurements and informed me that she needed to tell me this because she had to make me aware that I was taking....'Size Responsibility'....seriously she made it sound like I was signing a DNR order w/ a Notary present....I was doing everything I could not to laugh at her like the moron I thought she was sounding like.....so I had to get off the phone VERY quickly.....ohh being a bridesmaid!! :)

Da Jelly Bean!!
Mo-meen, Mo-meen da Jelly Bean is done with school FOREVER (if she so chooses not to further her education any more). I'm very proud of her, not just because she finished school, which is an awesome accomplishment in my book, but also because she is a phenomenal well rounded lady, thanks to her and I give a little credit to Pegs & Jer as well!!
It's hard to come by completely well rounded individuals these days, but she's got the market cornered on that, and she's good looking to boot!! I don't know what your talking about, she looks just like her sister, what?!?! JK!!!
Needless to say, I'm very happy Maureen went to UD, I think it provided us the opportunity (due to geography) to see each other more often and really helped us become tight. I also am glad Maureen had the opportunity to learn and live at UD, I believe it's really a unique campus and living atmosphere and it has proven to provide her with many of the close friendships that I too was able to form at UD. I am sad that for now the Schubert's are done with UD, but as DoD informed me last night...he's happy....not to be writing the checks anymore.
Alrighty, well more later....

HAHAHAH
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24386702/
Hahahaha, I crack myself up...as did this article...and being from The Commonwealth, I kept on thinking of this headline.....
"Virgins want to reclaim the title Virginian", not that Virgins really called themselves Virginians, but it was just a funny thought I had so I figured I'd share it.
I feel like I haven't stopped since I got back from GA. Not sure when I will either. I go to Mansfield tonight to see a man...about a car...hopefully he'll buy mine. Need to do a few more things to prepare for the weekend tonight too. The past two nights I've gotten home around 7:30pm after WW meetings and have been runnin' and runnin' and runnin' just like Forrest Gump....except I have not ACTUALLY been runnin'. I've just been doing errands, I made a list Monday night though and I am slowly but surely crossing it all off.
Can't wait for the weekend, it's going to be a blast, my baby schmaby schmooky pooky is GADGEEATING!!!! WOOO-HOOO!

Ahoy Hoy!!
Happy Hump Day folks!! Please, don't get any dirty ideas! I am having a slightly busy week at work...end of the month combined with a short week for me due to going to GO-JA, is what we can attribute the slightly increased amount of work to. GO-JA trip will now be Fri- Mon instead of Thurs - Sun. Will be leaving GO-JA at 4AM Monday to get back in time for my 2nd training session at WW.
My first training session was Monday night for the meeting that I used to attend and switched b/c the leader sang 'Climb every Mountain'. Now I only have to listen to her in the background with a lot more things to focus on so it's not quite as bad...plus I'm making a few Washington's (George Washington's that is!)
Yesterday I heard one of the funniest things I've heard in a while Kathy Schubert said to me "I'm waiting to try and get some of my money back from the guy that's in jail." Now that's almost pee my pants funny.

Desert Island
If I could bring only one thing with me on a Desert Island it would be Morton's Nature's Seasons.
Hello Hello. It's Sunday, and I am composing from the comfort of my own bed, under my electric blanket....for some reason I have been freezing ever since I woke up today. Normally I would grab a few blankets and cozy up on the couch to watch lots of trashy TV when I can't get warm, but with no cable, I am forced to blog instead.
I also am dressed like I am going to run the Boston Marathon in all my wonderful Christmas Champion workout gear, now that I am thinking about it, I am also able to compose this blog from my bed due to the Christmas laptop as well....I'm one lucky girl!! In addition to everything else, my Christmas was very generous....I'm stopping to take a moment for "Christmas in April" since I am utilizing so many Christmas gifts.....(that last pause was to say thank you once again for being born Baby Jesus).
There is a reason for all the workout gear- once I am warm enough I am putting the bike on the bike rack on Kathy's car and driving her car to the repair place it has an appointment at tomorrow then biking myself home....I needed to figure out how to get the car there and then get home- it's only about 2 miles from the house, so that seemed to make the most sense rather than asking a friend to drive all the way out here to Hilliard to then just drive me 2 miles home....and lord knows, the exercise won't hurt....I may even have to add a few more miles onto the trip.
Last night was our Pub Crawl and it was a real good time. It was all in moderation which always makes the following days much more bearable...and it's always nice to be able to drive at the end of the night so you can sleep in your own bed!! (Rather then on the couch of someone that lives closer to the bars, no dirty minds people!!) I was wearing really cute shoes though and today my feet hurt like a Beee-otch!!! and have blisters on them, this really stinks since I just got a pedicure yesterday.
Speaking of-I tried out a new pedicure place yesterday b/c it had a grand opening sign w/ 20% off- the pedicure was OK, but still not stellar, not as good as getting ones in Fairfax, and they are still way more expensive than they are in Fairfax....bummer. I guess that's what I miss most about the Commonwealth....good cheap pedicures....yep, that's definitely it, not family schmamily.....Just kidding!!
Alright, I'm warm, I'm making my departure from the electric blanket (ohhh which by the way was a Christmas gift of 2 years ago!!) and I'm going to get the endorphins going!!

Summer...it's my time to shine!
I love warm weather. I love to be outside in warm sunshine. Therefore, I love summer. I was going on about this to Lisa & JT at the beginning of summer/ end of spring last year and I said blah blah blah blah...."you know, summer is my time to shine" it was just a really funny thing to randomly say, but it has now turned into my personal quote, and I'm very proud of it, it's really quite true for me.
First and foremost, summer is the peak of Kickball season. This year I will be playing on a team Tuesday nights and a different team on Thursday nights. I was supposed to play with a team on Monday nights as well, but not enough teams entered that league so they had to change to Wednesday nights, which I could not do since I play Flag Football on Wednesday's.
I'm anticipating a lot of fun in the near future (early summer!) It begins with next weeks road trip with Lisa & JT to Georgia to see Megan & Family including the brand new baby Meredith & Claire, who by the way said "Mommy I Pooped!" for the first time last night when I was on the phone with her Mother....It's so great to be around for my friends children's 'firsts'.
After that the following weekend is Maureen Anne's graduation from The University of Dayton, it will be sooo much fun, but I honestly can't believe this will be the last time we party at UD....I wish she wasn't so smart and took like 6 years to graduate...that way I'd be in my 30's and the novelty of going back to UD for fun might seem far too juvenile for me....probably not though....
There is a weekend after that is a weekend with no plans yet, I think that will be good- maybe I'll make use of the book Peg bought me 'Landscaping for Dummies'....probably not though....
The following weekend is the Tribe/Reds game in the Nasti Natti- myself and 15 of my closest friends will be attending and everyone is staying the night in the Nasti all within walking distance of the stadium and bars....that means everyone could get totally TWASTED if they wanted to b/c no one has to drive.....I'm sure no one will do that.
A few weekends later I'll be heading down to The Commonwealth for Maureen's family graduation par-tay.
All I've got to say people is put on your UV protection....it's getting Shiny in here!!

Here we go again on our own....
So I have decided I may try this little thing called a blog...Peg did it for a while, Maureen did it for a while, and they both encouraged me to do it to...I don't know why I feel like it now, but I do- this may be a one time thing, it may go on for eons....no one knows....
I'll begin with my blog name 'kt k8 schubs or whatever ya wanna call me'.
My given name is Kathleen Marie Schubert- after my Grandma Kathleen Mullery who went by the name Katherine and my Grandma Jane Schubert who goes by the name Marie....make sense? I certainly hope so, it's not that difficult to follow.
My parentals Margaret- goes by Peg, and Gerald- goes by Jerry, Jer, BOK, DoD, Jed (which I never really understood, by the way) (pick your own) started calling Kate and or Katie most of the time growing up, my brother, sister, and most of the extended family usually called me Kate as well. Katie is how I introduced myself starting in Kiddi-garden and to this day is how I introduce myself to strangers. Kate is how I identify myself with my family, particularly the Schubert side of the family for some reason...don't know why, just has always been that way.
Some very close friends refer to me as Kate as well, it just kind of happens, I don't know if they hear family do it and they go from that or what it is- but a select few are allowed to call me Kate. I only really have a problem when people who I don't like think they are chummy enough to call me Kate, and in that case I correct them. My brother had a lady friend Airjgee or something like that who made this mistake, I had to correct her repeatedly. It's not like I called her 'Air', I don't know why she thought she could call me Kate.
ANYWHOOO- 'Schubs' started in high school with the Track folk...it was either Kiernan (coach) or my friends who started, doesn't really matter it stuck in HS, & made it's way to college via the AIM screenname. A select few used it in college, namely Mike Oliveri's hall mates, and sometimes Kellina....but after college it seemed to take a rest until I found my calling in adult co-ed recreational sports....I think Paul Vitale brought back the Schubs, and so here it is....
This all being said...I'll always be a Schubs, Katie, or Kate (can't no one take the K8 away from me!! :)
Till next time, if there is a next time.......
P.S. The title of this blog has nothing to do with the subject and I know it, the song was just in my head when I started....
